Khana Kahani, 2022
Gouache on paper with digital edits
36” X 27”
Khana Kahani is about colonialism, food, and the history of India through a fantasy land of Gods; transitions of happiness. Colonizers, oppressors, and rich people owning land and controlling who gets food, die. No matter the reach for being immortal or God-like, death comes to every human and being; but the damage is always done. Farmers and community reuniting together, finding escape in nature. Lastly, the comic portion is about my personal story; about rotting fruits in the fridge because of disability, wishing for a better community and energy to cook fresh, access to more; not rotting away in capitalism.
